WHO'S BEHIND THIS

About MyVetResources

Built by a service-disabled veteran who went through the VA process, kept the notes, and turned them into the site he wishes had existed.

Why this site exists

The VA system works — but its instructions are scattered across regulations, form footnotes, and hard-won word of mouth. Veterans lose money to a missed Intent to File, lose ratings to a thin statement, and lose years to the wrong appeal lane. None of that is a knowledge problem the veteran created; it's a translation problem.

MyVetResources translates. Every guide here answers one question in plain English, names the exact VA form involved, and links to the official VA.gov source. The calculators use the VA's actual math and current-year rates. VetClaimAgent answers the questions veterans actually type, around the clock, for free.

Who runs it

MyVetResources is founded and operated by Glen Sweeney, a service-disabled veteran based in Northern Virginia. Glen also runs a federal human capital consulting firm and builds tools for the veteran community, including a veteran-owned charter fishing brand. This site is independent — it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency.

Operating principles

  • Free means free. No paywalls, no logins, no lead-gen forms selling your info to claim sharks. The site is supported by clearly labeled advertising.
  • Official sources win. Every form links to VA.gov. When our summary and the VA's page disagree, the VA's page is right — tell us and we'll fix it.
  • Educational, not representational. We explain the process; accredited VSOs and attorneys represent you. We'll always tell you when free professional help is the smarter move.
  • Current or corrected. Rates, forms, and rules change. Pages carry review dates, and errors get fixed when found — see our editorial standards.
