Editorial Standards
How content on MyVetResources is researched, written, reviewed, and corrected.
Sourcing
Guides are built from primary sources: VA.gov program pages, the Code of Federal Regulations (Title 38), official VA forms and instructions, and published VA rate tables. Secondary sources may inform framing but never substitute for the primary source. Every form referenced links to its official VA.gov page — we never host or link third-party form downloads.
Lived experience
The site is written and operated by a service-disabled veteran who has personally navigated the claims, rating, and appeals processes. Practical guidance — what raters look for, where claims stall, which mistakes cost money — reflects that firsthand experience plus the documented experience of the wider veteran community.
Review and updates
Rate-bearing pages (calculators, pay tables, dependent amounts) are updated when the VA publishes new COLA rates, effective each December 1. Process guides are reviewed when the VA changes forms or procedures, and on a recurring schedule otherwise. Each guide displays its last review date.
Corrections
Found an error — a stale rate, a wrong form number, a rule that changed? Email contact@myvetresources.com. Verified corrections are made promptly and take priority over all other site work.
Advertising independence
The site is supported by clearly labeled display advertising. Advertisers have no input into editorial content, no page exists to serve an advertiser, and we do not accept payment for recommendations. We will never recommend paid claim-filing services for work that accredited VSOs do free.
Use of AI
VetClaimAgent is an automated assistant whose knowledge base is curated and maintained by the site's editor against the same primary sources above. Editorial content is human-directed and human-reviewed.
